June 10, 2018 was the first annual Sudbury Race Amity Day hosted by the Sudbury Race Amity Day Task Force.

An American Story: Race Amity and the Other Tradition (film screening)

Join us for a screening of the film "An American Story: Race Amity and the Other Tradition" produced by Sudbury resident Dr. William H. "Smitty" Smith, Ed.D., Director of the National Center for Race Amity and former principal of Curtis Middle School. Parental discretion advised: The beginning of the film may not be appropriate for all audiences. Use the film trailer as a guide. Free.

Pick up a one-page "History of Race Amity in Sudbury" when you attend any of our scheduled events. Prepared by the Sudbury Historical Society. Free.

Books can serve as mirrors of our own experience or windows into the lives of others. Enjoy a collection friendship-themed books selected by Children's Librarian Megan Warren for Race Amity Day. You'll find them presented in an endcap display in the Children's Department. Free.

Creative Dance Workshop (dance workshop)

Join us for a special creative dance workshop with guest artist L'Ana Burton, director of the Creative Dance Continuum and a Dance Artist in Residence for the State of Connecticut's HOTS (Higher Order Thinking Skills) program which integrates art across the curriculum in public schools throughout the state. Ages 5 and up. Free.

A Gathering of Friends

Join us for a Gathering of Friends celebration and closing ceremony. Free.

Location: Heritage Park, 299 Old Sudbury Road, Sudbury (behind the Hosmer House). Parking is available across the street at Peter Noyes Elementary School, 280 Old Sudbury Road, Sudbury

In case of rain, the gathering will move to the sanctuary at St. Elizabeth's Episcopal Church, 1 Morse Road, Sudbury​
