Race Amity Day - June 9, 2019

June 9, 2019 was the second annual Sudbury Race Amity Day hosted by the Sudbury Race Amity Day Task Force.

1:30 - 2:00 P.M.

Welcome and Opening Ceremony

Join us for a reading of the Race Amity Day Proclamation by Chair of the Board of Selectmen Dan Carty and welcoming words about friendship from Sudbury Police Chief Scott Nix.

2:00 - 4:00 P.M.

An American Story: Race Amity and the Other Tradition (film screening and facilitated discussion)

Join us for a screening of the film "An American Story: Race Amity and the Other Tradition" produced by Sudbury resident Dr. William H. "Smitty" Smith, Ed.D., Director of the National Center for Race Amity and former principal of Curtis Middle School (2:00-3:00). The film will be immediately followed by a discussion facilitated by educators and Sudbury residents Judy Merra and Elli Stern (3:00-4:00). Parental discretion advised: The beginning of the film may not be appropriate for all audiences. Use the film trailer as a guide.
